Accommodation at the Gatherings

Preliminary reservations have been made both in Tartu and Tallinn to ensure accommodation for all the participants.
Please contact the hotel as soon as possible to confirm your individual reservation.

In most of the hotels in Tartu, preliminary reservation must be confirmed before April 10, otherwise the reservation will be cancelled and we are not able to guarantee accommodation for all the participants because during the summer months, the hotels in Tartu are almost fully booked. Please note that the deadline for the confirmation in Hotel Mihkli in Tallinn is on March 31. To confirm the reservation in the hotels, refer to the preliminary reservation made by the Department of Semiotics.

Local transport

Unlike most of the cities in Europe, Tallinn Airport is only 10 minutes taxi drive from the Tallinn city centre. Taxi is relatively moderate: 7 EEK per km, minimum fee is 35 EEK. It takes only a couple of minutes from the Tallinn airport to the bus station with taxi and it should cost no more than 35 EEK.

Buses to Tartu leave in every 30 minutes, often the interval is even shorter, the first bus to Tartu will leave around 6.00 a.m., the last one 10.55 p.m. Bus trip to Tartu will take 2 h 25 min, it costs 80–90 EEK.

Hotels in Tartu are located in the city centre (5–10 minutes walk from the bus station) except for the Hotel Kantri which is about 10 minutes drive from the city centre. There is regular bus transport from the city centre, bus stop is about 100 m from the hotel. Taxi costs 6 EEK per km, minimum fee is 25 EEK.

Mihkli Hotel in Tallinn is 5 minutes walk from the city centre.
